Hey guys,

I just discovered the song and thinks it’s the greatest song EVER!! I just wanted to add that I think that you should switch the last two and add some extra notes to the chords. So it is Am, C7, Dm and then F7. To me it sounds like it fits better….
For the bass notes it’s A C D F.
But thanks for the hints!

Thanks Brandon! I can’t read music notes so I guess the chords Am, C, F, Dm you are mentioning are the right ones. Yes, 14 minutes of playing within those chords! Might sound a little repetitive but I do enjoy listening to my piano impro!

Very Impressed. So did you just take the 4 chords Am, C, F, Dm and play notes within the chords? I recently got a MIDI keyboard and I have been messing around with it with ableton for a little while now. Thanks for sharing

@Nate When you are saturated and just don’t feel like improving anymore, send me your stuff! Even if you don’t think it’s 100% complete! When I create music, sometimes I just gotta say stop, otherwise I could spend weeks making tiny little changes which ultimatly wouldn’t really have a big impact on the final product. Any artist needs to be able to say STOP! Perfection is a curse!

hey, karj. i’m still working on getting my stuff down to where i like it. got some rough stuff, but nothing i’d put out there yet. i’m still building the band and arrangements and maybe i’ll never get it exactly like i want it. but i will put it down someday…soon.

i can for sure knock 5% off the prices you see there. after that i’d have to pass you to my sales chief guy. he’s cool…he’ll work something out if it’s at all possible.

Hey Nate,
It sure is great to play some variations of great sounding chords. I love the simple chords from DJ Shadows song “Blood on the Motorway” which is why I recorded this piano improvisation.

You sure do have a lot of musical hardware on your MidWest Stereo website! I which I had some nice hardware to help with my music creations but I guess they are pretty complicated to use? How much reduction could you have on the products on the website?

Also, I think the chords you mentioned are right one. Do you record your music? Send me some stuff I could add on the blog if you like.

btw, Alex…i’m not sure what key he’s in, but essentially it’s this progression. i’ll give the chords in C, and then the chord numbers.

in the key of C, the progression is Am, C, F, Dm.

the numbers from the root key would be 6m, 1, 4, 2m.

man, i miss having a piano. i used to sit and do variations on a theme like that all the time. i do love my guitar, but i grew up with a piano. one of these days i’ll get a controller from work here and just do the virtual piano thing. but even weighted keys don’t feel the same.

i have acid 5.0 and love messing with it, but i really need someone to show me the nuances of it. and i need to learn how to record into it…or i guess into soundforge. oh well, i’ll get it one of these days.

btw, i can’t do a lot, but if you need any equipment, i’m the webmaster at midwest…hit me up, and i can get something knocked off our site price. i like to help out the home studio guys like me.

I’ve always thought “man wouldn’t it be cool to make another song based on those chords?”
I’m glad you did, it’s awsome.
What are the exact chords used? I could never figure them out.
