You can keep it, it wouldn't penalize you. Image search engines are a strange bird! They are a lot less logical than regular search engines. I also have tons of images on xarj.net and one out of 5 is indexed. Do you have a hotlink protection on your images? Has any site stolen any image links from google image? The thing is that i have a SEO plugin (wordpress) that automatically uses the post title as the ALT and TITLE tag on the pics. will that be a problem? since i often post 20 – 60 images / gallery post it will take to much of my time to manually add the alt and title tags to the pictures.
