May 12th, 2008TWITTER FASTER TO REPORT NEWS THAN ALL OTHER MEDIA
This is history! News of the earthquake that hit Beijing in China this morning was first published not by CNN, nor the BBC, not even the United States Geological Survey but by Twitter!
Twitter has become faster to report breaking news than all other media and professional news services! I am truly amazed and impressed! This is due to the large user base all over the world who can send twitter messages right from their mobile phones from anywhere in the world.
Some of the first Twitter users to report the earthquake were ScribeofLight and dtan.
